Cookie Policy
Last updated: 23 July 2026
1. About this policy
This policy explains how the PM Windows website uses cookies and similar browser technologies. Cookies are small text files placed on a device when a website is visited.
Privacy questions can be sent to tom@pmwindows.co.uk or P. M. WINDOWS LIMITED (company number 01913323), Holme Street, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, DN32 9AD.
2. Our approach
Necessary technologies may operate without consent where they are required to provide a service requested by the visitor, maintain security or remember a privacy choice.
Analytics, advertising and other non-essential technologies will remain off unless the visitor actively accepts the relevant category. Rejecting non-essential cookies will be as straightforward as accepting them, and declining them will not prevent access to the main website.
3. Technologies used at launch
The redevelopment itself does not load Google Analytics, advertising pixels or embedded social-media tracking before consent. Brevo is used by the server to deliver enquiry emails and does not require a Brevo tracking cookie in the visitor’s browser.
The enquiry form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to protect the website and PM Windows from spam, fraud and abuse. Google states that reCAPTCHA sets the necessary _GRECAPTCHA cookie when it performs this risk analysis. Basic device and request information may be sent to Google for this security purpose.
WordPress and reCAPTCHA may use the following necessary cookies in limited circumstances:
| Cookie or pattern | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
wordpress_test_cookie | Checks whether the browser accepts cookies when the WordPress login page is used. | Session |
wordpress_logged_in_* | Keeps an authorised WordPress editor signed in. It is not required for ordinary visitors. | Session or chosen login period |
wordpress_sec_* | Protects authenticated WordPress administration sessions. | Session |
_GRECAPTCHA | Used by Google reCAPTCHA for risk analysis and to protect the enquiry form from spam and abuse. | Up to 6 months (provider controlled) |
4. Analytics
Google Analytics is not active in the launch build at the date of this draft. If PM Windows introduces consent-based Google Analytics, this policy and the cookie controls will be updated before activation. The usual Google Analytics cookies include _ga and a property-specific _ga_* cookie, commonly retained for up to two years unless a shorter period is configured.
No analytics tag will load until the visitor accepts analytics cookies. Withdrawing consent will prevent future analytics collection on that browser.
5. External websites and media
Links to supplier sites, maps, social networks or other external websites do not place their cookies through PM Windows merely because the link appears. The external provider may set its own cookies after the visitor follows the link.
If an embedded map, video or other third-party service is added, it will either remain blocked until the relevant consent is given or be recorded in this policy with its provider, purpose and duration.
6. Changing cookie choices
Where optional technologies are active, visitors will be able to reopen the website’s cookie controls and change their choice. Visitors can also delete or block cookies through their browser settings, although blocking necessary cookies may affect authenticated WordPress functions.
Useful browser guidance is available at aboutcookies.org.
7. Updates
This policy will be updated when the website’s providers, embedded services or cookie durations change. The revision date shows when it was last reviewed.
We review the website’s cookie use when plugins, analytics or embedded services change and update this policy where necessary.
